Homemade Gift Tags

Ever wish you had something you could do with the greeting cards left over from the Holidays?
Here’s a great way to reuse or recycle them.
Make your own homemade one of a kind gift tags!

Use these templates or make your own shape and style:

Trace the template onto the card and then cut out.
(Oh my gosh these are easy)
Using a paper punch, punch a hole in the top of the tag.

PRINT GIFT TAG TEMPLATE

Tie a small color matching ribbon or twine to the gift tag and you’re done.
These are so pretty!
This idea can be used for greeting cards received all year! Birthday, Easter, any card really.
I have also used heavy scrapbooking paper to make homemade gift tags, following the same steps.
Make the gift tags for weddings, fall, baby showers, any occasion you give gifts and need a gift tag.
Make and use a tag to give canning gifts!

Gift idea: Place a dozen or two homemade multiple occasion tags in a small gift bag and give as a gift or as a stocking stuffer, or add them to a housewarming gift basket.
Cut them a little longer and make it a bookmark!

These tags are pretty basic and easy for just about anyone to make.
But if you're interested in a more elaborate and fancy gift tags, take a look at these on the blog:

Wow!

Happy crafting,

  16. I started making the tags from cards and heavy scrapbooking paper a couple years or so ago and now just don't like any of the store bought ones, or can't find any I like. Really makes a difference to have a unique or different than most tag on the gift. And gives me something to do with the cards, which are all so pretty, instead of just tossing them away.
I'm never sure if someone will think the things I do, like the gift tags are something anyone else would want to do. Glad to hear you make them. Jul
